5th Annual Domefest Review

May 30th we arrived at Sunshine Daydream MemorialPark for the 5th Annual Domefest

Echoes of The Southern Belles, a Richmond, Virginia based psychedelic, rock n’ roll band, could be heard as we made our way down the gravel driveway to the beautiful open fields and hills of Trip’s Farm (don't miss them at Pink Moon 6). Spotted almost immediately was the great dome of Domeland - the tallest dome in the 2 Virginias, which was certainly fitting for Domefest!

After getting camp setup, we ventured out to say hello to friends and to check out the vendors and explore the festival grounds. Our friends from Intergalactic Space Kitchen were there to provide cosmic eats for the weekend (you'll also be able to catch them at #pinkmoon6). Their burgers and donuts are a huge hit so if you see them at your next fest, be sure to check out the menu!

The day continued with music from Fletcher’s Grove, TAUK, and The Mantras. The main stage closed with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong bringing the funk back to Trip’s Farm! Puff T.Magic-Dragon even came out to boogie through the crowd for the Pigeon’s set and their performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “Puff the Magic Dragon.” Afterwards, Turkuaz played killer sets in the Late Night Barn - including an entire set of Talking Heads covers.

An amazing sunrise welcomed what was to be a wonderful Saturday. The Jauntee opened for another day of great acts like Pink Moon Festival's own Freedom Enterprise in addition to many in-between sets by multi-instrumentalist Mateo Monk. One workshop worth mentioning was the “Let it Flow” Poem Tell led by Ben Carrey in the Dome around lunch. There were also yoga, poi, and fire spinning workshops

The Dancing Bears made their way to stage for The Shack Band’s set which was accompanied by many big bear hugs and groups photos. The evening continued with Supatight, The Hornitz, Yellow Dubmarine, and Star City Disco. BIG Something played an amazing set while Puff T. Magic-Dragon made a few rounds before returning to get the funk down again with Pigeons. The music continued in the Late Night Barn for sets from Twiddle and Pink Moon’s own DELTAnine

The weekend greatly exceeded my expectations – I had a spectacular time seeing all of these incredible performers at this remarkable venue.

A huge “thank you” goes to all of the staff, volunteers, artists, musicians, and attendees! Rock Camp Productions is thrilled to have been a part of this awesome event. If you enjoyed our Dancing Bears or Puff T. Magic-Dragon, be sure to give our pages a “like” on Facebook!
