4/19 Gotta Day Campout Review

Rock Camp Productions had a BLAST at 420 Productions LLC’s one-day festival, 4/19 Gotta Day Campout!

Our crew arrived just as Lip Squid Drizzle was finishing up an awesome set. The sun was shining and was clear that everyone was in good spirits! After getting our camp set up and checking out the venue, we grabbed a bite to eat from Meatball Mafia that offered some of the best pizza and meatballs that I have had at a festival! The Bee’s Knees coffee and food also provided the delicious refreshments like fresh-squeezed lemonade, hibiscus lemonade, and coffee.

One of our dancing bears made an appearance and had a great time meeting and taking pictures with all of the festival goers while making rounds around the venue promoting Pasture Palooza and Pink Moon Festival.
Once the evening arrived, the performers switched stages and all sets were played in the huge Geodesic Dome by Domeland Security. With the setting sun, the temperature dropped and campfires began appearing all throughout the festival grounds. Though the air was chilly, it could not keep the people from the music! Our own Pink Moon acts The Mad Anthonys, Threesound, and Supersylum played awesome sets that night and to keep things hot and toasty around the music, a few different fire performers entertained the crowd just outside of the Dome. Some of the late night sets included B00MER, FoFi6, and IAMZOMB3.

The night slowed after the last set and everyone retreated back to their campfire sanctuaries to enjoy the rest of the night. Morning came and the majority of people had already left by noon. The vibes at this festival were nothing less than welcoming and friendly.

A huge thank you to 420 Productions LLC, Domeland Security,  staff, artists, and attendees for making this one-day festival so much fun and memorable!

Progress Festival Review

Progress Festival was held at Pinky’s Farm this past weekend, April 11-13th, and was a huge success!

Friday started off with car after car of people rolling up the driveway all day and late into the night. Intergalatic Space Kitchen was there to provide all of the hungry attendees that had just arrived with tacos, burgers, fries, and chicken wings.

Things were going really well and everyone was having a spectacular time. Pink Moon Festival performers N.A.R.P from Blacksburg, Virginia and The Deems, a jam band, both performed around early evening and put everyone into  better spirits than they were already in. About an hour of rain dampened the grounds but even this could not keep the people away! Later into the night, Toy Soldiers played a killer set of old-timey rock-n-roll that got the crowd movin’ and groovin’.

Saturday graced us all with bright sunshine and blue skies! Atoka Chase, an acoustic duo, performed around early afternoon with Maya’s amazing voice echoing throughout the festival grounds. Also, if you happened to get a Progress Festival t-shirt (there are still some available for $10), this lovely lady did the awesome design! Be sure to check out their set at Pink Moon VI.

The night progressed fantastically with The Lawsuits who were certainly crowd pleasers! I was able to get away from working the gate for a little while and catch Satellite Hearts performing a great Pink Floyd cover.

Meanwhile, M.H. and His Orchestra were practicing in the farmhouse kitchen for a little while before their set. Prior to Saturday night, I had not seen this group perform after dark and I must say that it was quite a show! This group is so animated and they really know how to get a crowd on their feet. Also, be sure to catch their performance at Pink Moon this year. The festival began to wind down and everyone dispersed for some rest before heading off of the farm in the morning.
