Atoadaso is a band from Roanoke and will be playing their
second Pink Moon this year. It consists of brothers Griff and Billy, who have
been playing off and on for most of their lives, and Max and Stephen. The two
began playing with Max about three years ago and formed Atoadaso a little while
after that with Stephen joining the band just under a year ago.
Atoadaso has an
interesting story behind their band name choice, “We wanted a word or idea
people would have to assign a new and unique meaning to – create a ‘fresh idea’
in their mind. The word ‘Atoadaso’
actually comes from an episode of ‘Trailer Park Boys’ as a misspoken, ‘I
told you so.’”
The group has a few rituals in which they partake prior to
performing, such as frequent urination, stretching, caffeine, flowers, IPAs,
and bananas in various forms.
As for plans after Pink Moon, Atoadaso intends to
focus on writing and recording during the winter.
